Founder & Executive Director
Eleanor Castillo Sumi, Ph.D.
Born and raised on Lānaʻi. Left at 17. Spent more than 25 years working with organizations serving individuals and families navigating barriers to healthcare, education, and economic opportunity — and saw Lānaʻi in every one of them. In April 2023, she founded Ohana Healthcare Partners, which gave her the platform and means to build something lasting for the island that made her.
Dr. Castillo Sumi is a clinical psychologist holding inactive licenses in good standing in both California and Hawaiʻi. She previously served as a federal grant reviewer for SAMHSA and held appointments to California’s Mental Health Services Oversight and Accountability Commission.

Her father's diagnosis with stage 4 cancer. Lānaʻi could not provide the care her family needed. The professional became personal. In 2023, OHP was founded — and the Foundation followed.
